Soccer Tournament to Raise Money for the Victims of Earthquake in Turkey

Updated: Mar 28, 2023

The Bright Choice Foundation (BCF) high school students recently organized a soccer tournament to raise funds for the victims of the recent earthquake in Turkey. The tournament, which consisted of eight teams, was held at the Raindrop Turkish House in Houston, Texas. The teams were named after cities that were affected by the earthquake, which helped to raise awareness about the situation.

The soccer tournament was not only a great way to raise funds, but it was also a fun and engaging event for the participating students. Volunteer students ran a concession stand during the tournament, which added to the fundraising efforts and provided refreshments for the attendees. It was heartening to see the students taking an active role in supporting the victims of the earthquake.

The venue, the Raindrop Turkish House, was a fitting location for the tournament, as it is a well-known community center that serves as a hub for Turkish-Americans in the Houston area. The center symbolizes the solidarity of Turkish-Americans in supporting the earthquake victims, and it was great to see the community coming together for a good cause.

The efforts of the students and the BCF paid off, as they were able to raise over $5000 for the earthquake victims. This is a significant amount that will make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by the earthquake. All of the raised money will go directly to the victims, which is a testament to the commitment of the BCF to the cause.

Overall, the soccer tournament organized by the BCF was a great success. It was a fantastic example of the power of community coming together for a good cause, and it also provided an opportunity for students to learn about social responsibility and community service. We applaud the efforts of the BCF and the participating students, and we hope that the funds raised will make a positive impact on the lives of the earthquake victims in Turkey.
