The Bright Choice Foundation Turkish Community and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints would like to thank everyone who attended our first-ever Interfaith Iftar dinner event. We loved bringing people of different backgrounds and faiths together to learn from each other. The event started with an LDS invocation, followed by a short ice breaker activity to get to know each other better. Reed gave a speech about fasting in the LDS faith, while Ihsan spoke about fasting as a Muslim. We enjoyed an open-mic session where attendees shared their personal testimonies and experiences regarding fasting, followed by the Iftar prayer, and a delicious dinner, giving people a taste of different cultures. We all laughed and dined with one another, creating new friendships that will hopefully last a lifetime and that are continued through future events like this. This was a huge opportunity to bridge cultural gaps and create understanding between the Muslim Community and the LDS community, teaching one another about fasting and what it means to all of us. This event was a great success in bringing people together to learn from each other, pray together, and create new friendships. We hope to jointly organize more events like this in the future, promoting unity and understanding among different communities!
Thank you!
